HOW TO SKIRT & CLOTH TH TABLE

OBJECTIVE

To have clean & well presented clothed tables. Leaving the guest with a good impression of the venue.

POLICY

Clean & tidy cloth/skirts are very important because that is what most guests see first when walking into a function.

PROCEDURE

Collect linen

Collect required linen from housekeeping. Ensure you have clean hands so you do not put any marks on the linen.

Only carry a manageable about of linen or use a room service trolley to minimize manual handling.

Place cloth on the table

Make sure that when the table cloth is place on the table that the hem is not face up. Make sure the chosen table cloth is the appropriate length for the table so that the table cloth does not show under the skirting

Attach skirting clips

Use plastic skirting clips to evenly secure the tablecloth. Use the correct skirting clips instead of pins as you or a guest could prick themselves.

Large skirting clips should be used for round tables, boardroom tables and trestle tables

Small clips should be used for room service tables and meetings kit table

Attach skirting to clips

Attach skirting to the clips making sure that there are no gaps so that the skirting does not hang down. Make sure that any excess skirting is doubled over so that it looks neat and tidy
