HOW TO ESCORT GUEST TO THE TABLE ?

OBJECTIVE

The guest will be seated in a professional manner to an allocated table which is set correctly.


POLICY

To maximized guests’ satisfaction.

To ensure the guests’ is acknowledged.

To ensure the guests’ is offer assistance with seated.


PROCEDURE

Lead the guest to table

Say “Would you follow me, please, Mr./Mrs./Ms. XXX ’, then show the way to the guest by using your open palm, (Not the finger).

Walk in front of the guest, not more than one meter and do not walk too fast, look occasionally back if the guest is following you.

Be sure to be aware of any special need the guests may have such as high chairs, or a disabled person.

Upon reaching the table announce to the guest “This will be your table forthis morning/evening”

Assist the guests

Pull the chair out for the lady with a smiling face.

Say: “There you go Mr. / Mrs. XXX or Sir / Madam” while pointing to the open chair.

Push chair in behind guest being careful to push at an appropriate pace and be sure the guest will land on the seat.

Once guest is seated remove napkin from table and lap the guest with napkin folded in a neat triangle.

Wish the guest an enjoyable breakfast, lunch or dinner

Say: “Thank you and enjoy your breakfast / lunch / dinner”
