HOW TO PLACE A NAPKIN ON GUEST LAP?
OBJECTIVE
To ensure that all F&B team know the standards.
POLICY
To maximize guests satisfaction
It is the policy of the hotel that all F&B team follow the same standard.
PROCEDURE
Pick up napkin from the table
After all the guest have seated
Say, “Excuse me, Sir/Madam!”
Open the napkin
Unfold it from the right of the guest where possible
Unfold it to its original size (Square)
Fold the napkin along the diagonal to form a triangle
Place the napkin on the guest’s lap
With care and caution
From the right side of the guest where possible
The apex of the triangle should be away from the guest
Say, “Excuse me, Sir/Madam!” once putting napkin down
Ensure that you don’t touch a guest
