


HOW TO SET UP COCKTAIL AND ROUND TABLE STYLE ?
OBJECTIVE
Cabaret and Round set up is a simple and easy set up that allows for a more practical way of doing group activities and discussions.
POLICY
It provides the guest an easy opportunity to hold a discussion.
PROCEDURE
Get a copy of BEO
Get a copy of the BEO and the floor plan. This is to ensure you know what you will need & how to set.
Get a requisition together this includes
Water goblet
Coaster
Pens
Pads
A bottle of water
Sweet-candy(two flavor)
Setting table
Move round tables into room make sure that 2 people open the table. The both need to stand at either end of the table and lift the sides up slightly in order for the table to open.
Set up your tables according to the floor plan. Once in place the tables need to be locked.
Clothe the tables making sure the hem side of the cloth is facing down and two sides of the cloth are longer than the other two sides. Check to make sure the linen is clean.
Set meeting cover
Set the tables, you will need to check the BEO for the details of what you will need to set.
Place note pads to the centre of each front chair and the pens are placed under the Hotel logo on the pad.
The water goblet should be place on coaster above the right on the table where the Hotel logo is. Water should be placed at the same place on each table for consistency.
Unless the BEO tells you different
Chair down
Time to chair down make sure you always refer to the safety practices for lifting and moving any stock and equipment.
Use the chair trolley when moving stacks of chairs to minimize manual handling.
Setting small table
If there is a lectern or microphone used a small table must be placed next to it.
A small table, which holds water bottle and glasses for the speaker.
Make sure that either two people are carrying the table otherwise the table should be placed on a flat bed for easy moving. Make sure the correct manual handling technique is used the knees should be bent.
Setting meeting kit
Make sure a meeting kit table is place in the corner of the room near a power point. Make sure the correct manual handling technique is used.
Cloth and skirt the table if needed
Place meetings kit on table making sure that the phone and oil burner is plugged in. Make sure the power point is turned off before plugging in the oil burner and that the cord is not going to be stretched out too far.
Check to make sure that everything is in the meetings kit.
Set LCD Projector
Cloth and skirt and room service trolley. Make sure the cloth is not too long for the table and that the small clips are used to skirt the table as it prevents the cloth and skirting getting caught under the wheels of the trolley.
Make sure the room is clean
When using rooms with cupboards make sure the benches are clean and inside the cupboards are clean with nothing in them.
Vacuum the floor if needed
Make sure window sills are clean
Make sure all the blinds are at the same height otherwise it looks messy. The blinds should ¼ of the way down.
Walk through
Always walk through the set you have just completed, as there may be something that you have forgotten.
