HOW TO SET UP FOLDING BAR?

OBJECTIVE

Expect that the tables they will be sitting at will be safe for them and of the quality they have paid for


POLICY

The tables may collapse if incorrectly opened

The folding bar  can be a manual handling issue to staff in both the moving and opening/closing stages


PROCEDURE

Moving tables

Make sure you have a clear path from where the table is located to where the table needs to be moved to

When moving tables ensure you have full control over the table at all times

Only move one table at a time

Always push the table, do not pull at any time

Opening the table

Always open a table with a partner.

Each person is to stand at either end of the table with hands on either side of the table top.

When both people are ready pull the two sides of the table top outwards and up.

Locking the table into place.

Always open a table with a partner.

Each person is to stand at either end of the table with hands on either side of the table top.

When both people are ready pull the two sides of the table top outwards and up.

Closing the table

Unlock the wheel brakes located on the top of each wheel arm.

With a partner stand at either side of the table where the split in the table top is located.

When both people are ready each person needs to lift the table up slightly and push until the tables come together.
